Daubed in all the bright colours of the paintbox, these beach huts stand in a seemingly endless curve along the sands of Melbourne´s Brighton Beach. This unique view was made possible by rotating the shot through 220 degrees with my Roundshot camera, the variations in perspective adding beautifully to the novelty of the scene. I love the bold colours, each hut vividly proclaiming its own personality. Here there is no question of blending in with the surroundings. Every coloured panel makes a statement to the public at large. It recalls Shakespeare´s line: “This above all – to thine own self be true!”
